Santa Barbara California – 2001
This Monet Garden is a great example of Ziemer Design Creations capacity of problem solving while creating a pleasing water garden. It is a text book solution to addressing and solving environmental challenges and wetlands restoration.
This will also give you an example of the Ziemer Design Creations “Master Crafter Portable Manufacturing System” package illustrating the skills you will learn and the unlimited capabilities we will provide you.
The Monet Garden was my brain child while being commissioned to solve existing wetland concerns from The Santa Barbara County building department and Architectural Board of Review over my client’s development plans. The County concern was the past history of a small wetland on the property that had been non existent for decades, but a mandatory issue to resolve.
My solution was to create an upgraded wetland that was to replicate an indigenous riparian as to maintain native continuity of the Santa Barbara natural environment. Said and done, the Monet Garden was designated as a nature preserve for indigenous flora and fauna solving SB County and client concerns.
How did Ziemer Design Creations do this?
The biggest problem was the fact Santa Barbara County would not allow any heavy equipment in this area. ZDC excavated the restoration by hand tools only and hand made all ponds, stream beds, and rocks by hand. This was the birth of Ziemer Design Creations Master Crafter portable manufacturing system.
